Specialist Carpet Stain Removal across Teesside

Red wine, pet accidents, coffee, blood, ink — if it can come out, we'll get it out. Honest advice on what's recoverable before you commit.

Why DIY Stain Removal Often Makes It Worse

A fresh stain feels like an emergency — and it is. But what most homeowners reach for first (kitchen roll, a scrubbing brush, supermarket carpet shampoo) can fix the stain into the fibres permanently. Rubbing spreads it. The wrong chemistry sets it. Heat from a steam cleaner cooks protein stains solid.

By the time we're called in, half the job is often undoing a well-intentioned DIY attempt. Call us before you scrub — or at least before you reach for a second product — and we'll walk you through the right holding action until we can get there.

Fresh Tech provides professional stain removal across Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Ingleby Barwick, Yarm, Darlington and the wider Teesside area. We assess the stain honestly, tell you whether it's realistically going to come out, and get to work with the right chemistry for that specific stain type.

Why Choose Fresh Tech for Stain Removal?

Stain-Specific Chemistry

There's no universal "stain remover" — different stains need different solutions. Red wine needs one approach, pet urine another, old ink another again. We carry a specialist range and match chemistry to stain type rather than reaching for a single bottle.

Honest Pre-Assessment

Before we start we tell you what's realistic. Stains older than a few months, bleach damage, and dye transfer are often permanent — we'll say so rather than take your money for a job that won't succeed. Where removal is likely, we'll tell you that too.

Safe for Pets and Children

Our solutions are non-toxic and environmentally friendly. No harsh solvents left in the pile, no residues for crawling toddlers or pets to pick up. Once the carpet's dry, the room is back to normal.

Full-Area Clean Where Needed

Spot-cleaning a single stain in a dirty carpet sometimes leaves a clean patch that looks worse than the stain. We'll flag when that's a risk and recommend either blending the clean area in, or cleaning the whole room so everything matches.

Our Stain Removal Process

1. Identify the Stain

First question we ask: what is it, and how long has it been there? Protein stains (blood, milk, pet urine) need one treatment. Tannins (wine, coffee, tea) need another. Synthetic dyes (ink, food colouring) need a third. Getting this right up-front is 80% of the job.

2. Test on an Inconspicuous Area

We test our solution on a hidden corner of the same carpet first — checks for colour-fastness so the cure isn't worse than the disease. This takes two minutes and saves the whole carpet.

3. Apply Stain-Specific Treatment

The right pre-treatment sits on the stain for the right amount of time — no scrubbing, no heat. Some stains break down chemically; some need enzyme action; some need a controlled extraction.

4. Extract and Rinse

We extract the stain along with the treatment using hot water extraction at controlled pressure. Rinsing thoroughly means no residue left behind to re-soil or re-appear later.

5. Finish and Dry

A neutralising rinse brings the carpet's pH back to normal. Air movement accelerates drying — typically 2-4 hours before the area is usable again.

Stain Removal FAQs

Can you remove red wine stains from carpet?

Most red wine stains yes, particularly if caught within a few days. Older wine stains that have oxidised are harder — we'll assess honestly before quoting. If you've just spilt, blot (don't rub) with a clean white cloth and call us.

Will you be able to remove my pet's urine stain and smell?

Usually, yes. Fresh accidents clean out fully; older ones that have soaked into the underlay are harder and may need specialist pet-odour treatment. The smell is a separate job from the stain — bacteria in the pile and pad need neutralising, not just cleaning.

Should I try to clean the stain myself first?

Blot fresh liquid spills with a white cloth or kitchen roll to absorb what you can. Don't scrub, don't use heat, and don't use supermarket carpet shampoo before we arrive — DIY attempts often set the stain. Call us and we'll advise.

Are any stains impossible to remove?

Yes. Bleach damage removes the carpet's dye — the fibre itself is discoloured, not stained, so there's nothing to extract. Dye transfer from cheap rugs is similar. Very old urine, hair-dye and some permanent marker stains are also usually permanent.

How much does stain removal cost?

Small individual stains are often tackled as an add-on when we're cleaning a room (from £45). Extensive stain work on its own is quoted per-job after we see it. We give free, no-obligation quotes after inspection.

How long before I can walk on the carpet?

Light foot traffic within 2-4 hours of treatment, fully dry in 6-8. We speed drying with airflow — you're not stuck out of the room for days.

Do you guarantee stain removal?

No honest cleaner guarantees 100% removal — anyone who does is not telling you the whole truth. What we guarantee is the right process, honest assessment beforehand, and no charge for attempting something we already know won't work.

Don't Wait — Fresh Stains Are Easier

Time is the enemy of stain removal. A red wine spill dealt with today is a very different job from the same spill ignored for a week. The fibres bond, the stain migrates, and the chemistry gets harder.
